The Frogs remain in 4th, but did receive more votes this week and gained a little ground on #3 Michigan (+24 votes)! And for those that may be interested, Tennessee did incrementally gain on TCU (+4 more votes!)

We should be in first. Nobody’s beaten more ranked teams

It’s ridiculous how the media spent all week telling us how great UT is and how TCU is going to lose, and when TCU kicks their butts in front of 100k of their idiot fans, we don’t move up
We won by 7 and the teams ahead of us won by 42 and 31, although over inferior teams. Not much room to move up. We’re fine, gained some respect for sure because of how the defense played.

There is now more separation between the Top 6-7 and everyone else for sure. The field is dwindling and we’re right in it.

I really want UTSA to keep winning and Texas to lose another. If that flip in the poll were to happen we might just see a public suicide from the clock tower.

And in 2014 we won by 52 and dropped 3 spots.

Except they don’t count all of those. If they aren’t ranked now then they don’t count as wins against ranked teams. What BS.
Looking at it that way is the only way it really makes sense. Just in an extreme example, let's say Team A wins 5 games against ranked teams at the time they play them, but none end up ranked. And Team B doesn't win any games against ranked teams at the time the games are played, but at the end of the season 5 of them end up being ranked. Are you saying Team A should be credited with 5 ranked wins and Team B zero? Or that Team A's resume should show that they had better wins? That would make zero sense.

Another example....Team A plays a team ranked #20 and beats them, then Team B beats that same team the next week but they aren't ranked because Team A beat them. Only Team A gets credit for a win over a ranked opponent? Again.....dumb.

That all have wins against ranked teams.

How can anyone say OSU being ranked eighth at the time we played them didn’t matter?

I mean, the simple answer is if they go on and lose a lot more games to other teams, then yes, that win will be devalued to a degree. That’s just common sense.

There have been cases where some preseason Top 5 teams were HIGHLY overrated to start seasons. If those teams go on to finish 6-6 or something, then yeah, I don’t think the team that played them first should be given credit for a win over a Top 5 team.

Subjective arguments based on subjective rankings are exactly why the playoffs can't expand soon enough.

Let them prove it on the field.
