Perhaps some of you remember 2008.
We were 9-1 after beating UNLV on a Sat nite and arrived back to DFW at 4AM Sunday Morning.
We got back on the plane Thursday to Utah for the biggest game of the season's league play.
Controlled thurs. nite all the way, until late in the 4th qtr and gassed out, as then Utes took over.
Losing 13 -10 from a TD with 2 minutes left. Short week/with back to back road games/altitude.
Guess who got to Play #4 Bama and won by 2 TDs in the Jan. 4 2009 Sugar Bowl.
Guess who left Utah with a Holiday Bowl invite in San Diego.
Think of the $$$s lost by coming back to DFW and not camping out side Salt lake City for a few
days with preorganized academic work by the kids professors and bringing a few tutors along .
How much did it cost the program in Bowl $$$s .?. not to mention the prestige playing in N.O.

The problem in that game was that we had been shutting them down the whole game, then went into an end of the game prevent defense and watched them drive right down the field. Playing not to lose rather than playing to win.

Back-to-back-to-back offsides against the Frogs (all legit) while at first moving quickly down the field with a 10-0 lead could have also cost TCU the win....IIRC, that was in the second quarter....Utah ground out the momentum the rest of the game....
