Does TCU require vaccinations?

88%, according to the most recent CDC report. This idea that the vaccine is ineffective against the Delta variant is scare mongering.
Ok. But this particular rendition of scare mongering is coming from the CDC per the Washington Post report. So either it's the WaPo or the CDC that's wrong and doing the scare mongering.

And while I still lean toward its better to get the vaccine because the likelihood of something bad happening as a result seems super low I completely understand people who are completely scheissing confused with all the mixed messaging from the CDC and Fauci. And it seems that at least some people within the CDC realize that they're confusing the crap out of people although I'm sure they'll never publicly say that.

I think it's easy to pigeon hole everyone who hasn't taken the vaccine as being fooled by "scare mongering" (and no doubt that's the case for some) but rarely in life are things really that black and white. Ultimately I think the best thing for the administration, CDC, and everyone who wants the country to get vaccinated would be to tell them all to talk to their doctor about getting the vaccine and leave it at that. The bullying and shaming technique hasn't been effective and with certain groups of people has only made them even more determined to not get the shot. It's only created teams of people shouting at each other and calling each other names.

You've been vaccinated but they deem it so effective you're still supposed to wear a mask indoors and socially distance. I bet you're really glad you got vaccinated.
I'm neither glad nor sad about getting the vaccine. I looked at it no differently than a flu shot. Fingers crossed that it helps but with the understanding that it's not 100%. It's just something I did and would do again but not something I'm super passionate about either way.

And I haven't even touched a mask since I got vaccinated so I don't really give a [ Finebaum ] what the CDC recommends on that specifically. They'll change their mind soon and then I'll be back on the "right side of science" as they say.

Partisanship Isn’t The Only Reason Why So Many Americans Remain Unvaccinated

But partisanship isn’t the only thing that has shaped Americans’ vaccination status. Unvaccinated Americans tend to be younger, less well-educated and poorer; they are also more likely to be a person of color. The situation we’re in is not just because of politics but also because of access to the vaccine and broader skepticism of the health care system.

Unfortunately that is not the narrative that is being pushed by the media or the groups the current plan of attack is focused on addressing

I honestly thought J&J would be a savior for the less reachable demographic groups even with lower effectiveness because it was one and done - but instead of rolling out the type of one time execution strategies that have been used in the past to reach remote communities related to health care - we are continuing to push solutions that require citizens to extend more time, effort or resources they don’t have to become vaccinated

the small growth we are seeing seems to be coming from grass roots efforts to reach those that can’t or won’t come to the existing sources

Seems like a lot of leaders thought free would be enough or a $200 bribe to overcome those that wouldn’t and didn’t realize many people couldn’t

the actual lead that i think is getting buried with that graph and tweet is that just under 30% of HEALTHCARE workers expressed hesitancy in getting the covid vaccine

not sure what the definition of a "healthcare" worker is, but unless they spoke entirely with aides even an lvn needs i believe two years of school and i would suspect a few science classes
And health care workers! Surprised on that too.

It might just reflect the mix of the other demographics within health care workers.

can tell you that not only did the system my wife works for fire over 150 employees who would not get vaccinated, but they have lost multiple replacement hires over that very matter.

not sure where you are sink, but there is a very good probability if you are talking lvn's and rn's in the houston area there is just as good a chance if not better they are nigerian and filipino as white and republicans

Las Vegas casino worker and father of 5 dies from COVID-19, texts fiancée: 'I should have gotten the damn vaccine'
Doctors are flagging the very real dangers of vaccine hesitancy, with one Arkansas doctor delivering an emotional plea that described the "regret and remorse" on the faces of patients dying with COVID-19, Insider's Mia Jankowicz reported.

"I have had to call multiple fathers and mothers of preschoolers - in their 20s and 30s - and tell them that their spouse may very well not survive this hospitalization," he said.

Pure fear mongering, of the embarrassing variety.

I don’t believe that article for one second. Sounds entirely made up.

Was I supposed to type something here?
What is this "lack of vaccine availability" nonsense? I was just in a Walgreen's in Victoria, Texas, and the place had posters proclaiming "Get your COVID Vaccine here! No waiting!" Other than me, there were no shoppers in the place, but I was trying to avoid the rush...

Just more nonsense. People who don't want it, don't want it and aren't getting it. Doesn't have a damned thing to do with availability.

Guessing you have never been a healthcare provider in a lower income, older demographic or rural area….

‘It’s too late’: US doctor says dying patients begging for Covid vaccine

At least 99% of those in US who died of Covid in the last six months had not been vaccinated, says CDC director Dr Rochelle Walensky

“I’m admitting young, healthy people to the hospital with very serious Covid infections,” wrote Cobia in a Facebook post on Sunday.

“One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late,” she added, referring to patients who have to be put on a ventilator.

Victoria, Texas. Population 50,000. Surrounded by acres and acres of cattle ranches. While I have never been a "Healthcare provider" (aside from handing pain killers to hungover people), that is precisely where I was.
