When did it become the norm that an adult who caught a home run or could ball had to be shamed into giving it to a kid, who would likely just use it to play catch and then end up losing it?
As someone who never caught a home run ball, I think it would be cool to have one. But I feel like, if I ever got one, I would be labeled a pariah if I did not immediately give it away.
I just think it’s weird.

The W moved the Frogs up 1 spot to #4 in RPI (because Tenn lost). Things will move around as results come in but looks like Okie Lite will only drop a tiny bit on the weekend (currently at just 1 spot drop). Whorns up to #13.

Frogs need a comfortable win at home against UTA (or a rain/fog out). Kansas has a respectable RPI (58) coming in next weekend but still need the sweep. Baylor is up to #50 now after 2-1 in Kansas. I wonder if Eli Davis threw for KU today. Haven’t seen him since the state quarterfinals of my son’s senior year.

Gonzaga is at 28, Liberty at 33, and Louisiana at 43 which is certainly helping the Frog RPI.

I was just messing around.
Foul ball? Yeah, give it to a kid. Grand slam ball? I'd probably keep it, or offer it to Taylor.

You mean more of a pariah?

The Red Sector goofballs at U. La. La. would all holler in unison at whoever caught a foul ball to "GIVE IT TO A KID!!!" It was hilarious to watch grown men react as if hit by a cattle prod, and scramble around trying to find a kid so the shouting would stop...

What I do is give it to a kid in a way that everyone sees me do it. Mr Good Guy. But they don’t see me tell the kid to bring it back to me and I’ll pay him for it. When he brings it back I give him $1 and tell him to get the hell back over to his seats. Win win all the way around.
