6 degrees in Midland. Seems to be rolling blackouts here to the tune of 10 minutes per hour or so. About all of our homeless are in shelters we think and a bunch of good people have been working for a couple of days to try to get some shelter for the jillion stray dogs and cats we usually have roaming the streets in this town. Strays locked in bathrooms, whatever it takes. Working the phones with police from here but we might have a wipeout. Too many dumbasses out there. Sorry to gripe.

I guess some people will be getting "green jobs" deicing wind turbines. Hopefully, that will buy them some time to learn to code before global warming eliminates the need for those jobs.
the best is how they "deice" a green energy wind turbine....by using a fossil fuel burning helicopter that burns gallons a minute while spraying a toxic mix of petrochemicals on the blades....

It will almost certainly have to be part of the answer if some of the more optimistic fossil fuel free energy dreams have a snowballs chance unless quantum leaps in electricity storage are made over the next decade.
going to have to learn to make batteries from the acidic levels in "dirt" if we really expect energy storage capacity from batteries to ever be truly viable as a way to smooth the curve....

Current battery technology is not going to be able to meet the demand of all these car manufacturers who say they will have an all electric fleet by 2030 due to raw material availability, much less be able to store power for our homes or businesses
