SB Nation: DT Kenny Turnier transfers to TCU

TCU Football got some help in the defensive trenches this weekend, as former Golden Knight Kenny Turnier announced he would be transferring to TCU to finish his collegiate career.

Turnier’s journey has been an eventful one; the Miami native originally committed to Oregon State as a tight end, but transferred to Ventura College in Southern California after tearing his ACL as a freshman with the Beavers. He switched to defense at Ventura, recording 58 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and an interception for the Pirates, good enough to get him back on the NCAA radar and an offer from UCF and others.

All of this despite having just one year of high school football under his belt.
