OT: Edinburg player attacks referee during game

Go to any youth sporting event on any weekend and almost of what you will hear is parents bad mouthing refs/umps. Or parents confronting them mid game about whatever call they think was missed. Half the coaches seem to spend more time barking at the umps than they do coaching their players. So it’s no wonder the kids grow up thinking it’s ok to challenge refs whenever they feel like it.
I couldn’t have said it any better.

Running back Joe Jones scores three touchdowns and his team's (and his OC's) statistics reflect those 18 points. Offensive tackle Sam Smith is flagged for holding and his team receives a 15-yard penalty. Kicking specialist Sara Dippity misses an easy field goal as the game ends and her team loses by 2 points. Every player's individual performance impacts the rest of the team. Whether that's "fair" or not it's the way team athletics and that silly thing called real life work. Like it or not, team members depend on and are responsible to one another. Sports, business, marriage...those things create and require interdependence, and consequently if one team member screws up others are affected. For those who don't want that kind of interdependent activity I'd recommend free solo climbing.
