Dee Winters has gone from a one-gas-station town to one of TCU’s best defenders

Dee Winters didn’t have much to say when asked about growing up in Burton.

“There’s only one gas station,” Winters said. “There’s not a lot.”

That’s understandable for a town with a population of 560, according to the 2018 U.S. Census data, located off Highway 290 between Austin and Houston.

Winters has been great this year and just keeps getting better. I'm so excited about our young defenders. Next years starters/key contributors likely include freshmen and sophomores at both DE spots, both CBs, 2-3 of the safeties (depending on if TM leaves), both LBs, and at least 1 of the DTs.

Our D was bringing the wood on Saturday, and outside of two pass plays, that was a pretty salty effort. There were some sore Tech players yesterday.
