Equipment Frog. Man, he had the scoop. Probably shoulda used a better handle though.
Dumb. Context matters. The mere utterance of the word should not be a problem. This is ESPECIALLY true in the context of telling players NOT to call teammates the word in team meetings (or anywhere).
why did he apologize then? Because he knows what is obvious, that he could communicate the thought he communicated (a) without using the word itself and (b) in a different context, eg, in an appropriate place with appropriate people present, not in s confrontational way in the middle of a gaggle of players.

Some were very similar to this board, some of them very rational and some from your typical dumb aces.
One semi humorous one was someone commenting about Dylan’s genius grasp of the English language and noting that the word he said should never be used in any context (that he used) was about the only one he used correctly.

Good to see all of these rational African American kids recognizing this for what it is.
Unfortunately it’s like some female crying rape and when nothing actually happened (See Tawana Brawley). The stain is often hard to get out especially when there are rivals that may benefit from keeping the story alive.
