You judge a Man by what he's done with his life.

You judge a young man on how he responds to problems for the first time in his life.

CGP tried to help a player like he has for almost 40 years.

The kid was upset and lashed out.

Prediction:

Patterson will be at TCU next month and the player will be somewhere in the transfer portal bound for an episode of Last Chance U.

Gary is responsible for his behavior and no one else. Certainly not a 19 year old kid with no job and no degree. Gary is a multi-millionaire coach who is the freaking president of the national coaches association. For him to think he could ever utter that word in public MUCH LESS to a young black man is totally inexcusable.
Dumb. Context matters. The mere utterance of the word should not be a problem. This is ESPECIALLY true in the context of telling players NOT to call teammates the word in team meetings (or anywhere).

why did he apologize then? Because he knows what is obvious, that he could communicate the thought he communicated (a) without using the word itself and (b) in a different context, eg, in an appropriate place with appropriate people present, not in s confrontational way in the middle of a gaggle of players.

Be sure you read the comments when you click on this.

Some were very similar to this board, some of them very rational and some from your typical dumb aces.

One semi humorous one was someone commenting about Dylan’s genius grasp of the English language and noting that the word he said should never be used in any context (that he used) was about the only one he used correctly.
