I blame Cumbie way more than I blame GMFP for this. Offense is just atrocious which just killed the vibe for the whole team the last two years. It has cost us so much. The stats and numbers don’t lie. We have wasted so much talent.

Maybe 2 first round draft choices and 5 others in the top seven draft rounds and we could only win 5 freaking football games. What does this say about our coaching or do we even have to ask this question

What it says is that we had an unsettled QB position and when it got settled we had a freshman getting OTJ training. It also says many of the coaches are the same as when we were winning and some of these stud players didn’t do their jobs.

Just a guess though...

I'm still 50/50 on Cumbie. 20/20 hindsight is great, but at the time it seemed like Rogers, Robinson and Duggan were good picks. Talent, plus Meach, may have made the Boykin era exceptional, as everything seemed to fall apart from then on and let's remember, on Hill's transfer, with his HS credentials, it looked ok to us. Meach and Kill are going to make a BIG difference. If we play this year, offensively, we going to be mo betta.

Since we have had more threads started on this than we had wins last season, apparently you feel that it should be asked, and multiple times.
To use the old cliche, a team is only as strong as it weakest link. The same can be said of position groups. For example, it only takes one of your O-lineman to get beat for the QB to be sacked. Doesn't matter that three of the five are are draft quality if other two are well below average.

McKinney was worse than Reagor was good. Can say the same for Bolisomi, McMillon, Stephens, Hunt, etc. Lot of bad players on the offensive side mixed with a few really good players

All true IMO. Instead of recruiting really taking off after the Boykin era, we stumbled out of the gate.

It says he's a coach that's worn out his welcome, and blames the lack of success on everyone and everything but himself.

It says we lost 5 games by 7 points or less because we started a true freshman quarterback that has a ton of talent but was terribly inaccurate. It cost us some wins for sure but like 2007 with a certain red head, it's going to take some growing paints, literally the only thing stopping us from being a consistent 10-win team has been QB play, right now we need to be patient and let Max grow into the role like Andy did, hopefully we will get the same results. Please stop with the sky is falling, it's gotta be the coaching rhetoric, we are still in great shape and the future is still bright!
