Football Season Tickets and Tax Update

GoFrogs site has been updated, but the language is still contradictory (see below). On one hand it says season tickets cannot be refunded. But then it lists a refund as one of three options if there is an Act of God.

Here's what we need to see in writing. If the season is canceled, and we elect for a refund:

1) The refund will include both the donation portion and the season ticket price.
2) Refunds apply to parking and Club Food charges, as well as regular seat donations and tickets.
3) If we choose a refund, we will not lose our allocation or guaranteed seat/parking locations for 2021.

In other words, if we refund this season, will 2021 be as if 2020 never happened, and we will just fall in line as usual, with guaranteed seats, locations, and parking? I understand that accepting a full refund might cause a drop in Priority Point ranking, as a result of other folks opting to donate theirs to TCU, or even rolling it forward to next season.

Have you tried contacting the ticket office?

I am only addressing the information they are share through tweets and on their own website. Everyone needs full and correct information, and one person reaching out does no good...and can even cause further confusion for the masses when that one person "goes public" with what the TO allegedly told him. The TO needs to provide comprehensive answers to everyone simultaneously so that 15,000 people aren't contacting the TO.

RENEWAL DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 1!
TCU Athletics understands that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact many of the Horned Frogs faithful. To be sensitive to these present day challenges, we have made the decision to extend the 2020 TCU Football season ticket renewal deadline until June 1. Additionally, the upgrade process will now take place in late June.

A 2-month payment plan option will be offered to those season ticket holders who would like to wait until June 1 for initial payment and July 1 for final payment. The previously announced 4-month payment plan option is also still available for anyone that wishes to proceed with first payment this month and final payment in July.

As we continue to prepare and expect to play football games this season, we understand concerns some might have due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Refunds will only be issued if games are canceled. Refund amounts will vary per account based on location, scholarship seat donation and/or parking.

Option 1 – Apply credit to the next season
Option 2 – Apply credit to the Frog Club for additional priority points
Option 3 – refund to the season ticket account

We thank you for your continued support of TCU! Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you around campus again in the near future.

I guess the easiest way to say the refund policy is to not overthink it. Keep it simple. Any game(s) effected will have these options available. TCU will do what is right for the season ticket holder. Same for parking.

Obviously national emergencies such as what we are experiencing are extremely rare. Pretty tough to get into detailed specifics when the landscape is continuing to change. But rest assured, TCU will continue to operate fairly for our season ticket holders.

Thank you for your continued support!
