OT - Second Job Ideas

It's refreshing to see someone putting forth a concerted effort to achieve something on their

own....as opposed to expecting it to be bestowed upon them in some form of an entitlement.

Very true ... too many spoiled kids expecting daddy's friend or mommy's uncle to give them a pass to a really good job they don't deserve and when if doesn't work out, they go running to their wife's daddy to fix things for another opportunity. So, love the OP's attitude. Just go out / go after it / and work it !!

I was a “professor” at a Community College, then a University. Pretty [ Cumbie’s red zone playcalling ]ty pay and they didn’t really care that I actually taught anything as a side gig at night.

I taught in an evening MBA program for awhile. Also not great pay and definitely not worth it financially. But did enjoy it.

Sooooo, Have any of you worked two or more jobs? Any recommendations for industries or companies?

yes, as recommended see if you can do side work based upon what you currently do, but make sure you set realistic goals.

did work on the weekends with a friend who does inventory work for oil field supply companies and done the pizza delivery bit

dave makes it sound like you can knock this out in no time on his show. might take a bit longer but it can be done

Supply Chain Management. Purchasing to be exact.
I graduated with a degree in SCM from TCU in 2007 and am also in purchasing (but moving to a production planning role) and work in Irving...what sort of base do you have? Just curious if I can give you a benchmark based on comparable age and position...and since you are anonymous...why not?!

I like to think I do my job well... annual appraisal was exceeds expectations. Only problem is the amount of debt I have outweighs my income. That's on me and my desire to get a masters... I just need something for a year to get debt free.
scheiss it. No need to explain yourself. You want more $ for you and your family.

I’ve got a full-time job and 3 side gigs. One of them being an adjunct instructor at a junior college. All you need is a masters and you have that. Unfortunately, colleges now are cutting costs by hiring adjuncts, not to pay benefits. Pay isn’t amazing but I enjoy it.

My other two jobs are somewhat manual labor but have been put on serious hold during Covid19.

And Darn Dave Ramsey. A scheissing billionaire telling me to stop spending $ on baseball, vacations and rock music.

What is/was your title in Purchasing? And what's your title going to be for a production planner?

I'm a logistics procurement leader (aka senior specialist recruiting after a consultant renamed us). New position (raise starts today, but not yet transitioned) is S&OP manager.

Ah. Commodity Manager is my title.

Also, I'm tabling the second job for right now. The economy and markets are crazy right now.

My brother recently bought a new car, and he's now an Uber driver for a couple hours after work 3-4 times a week. He says its paying for the car and a bit more. Seems to be a pretty good way to pick up extra money. Very flexible too.
