he goes 8-4 3-4 years in a row and there will be a pirate statue by the stadium

If he goes 8-4, 4 years in a row, I predict:

1. Auburn-Florida-Arkie-Kentucky-Mizzou-Aggie or some other similarly situated program will run at him with major resources (including coach-pay) for a job NOT in Starkville.

2. Hail State fans will grumble about the 4 losses.

3. God help him if he goes 8-4 but can't beat Ole Miss regularly, even if he beats one of the big boys of the SEC-W to get to 8.

Dantonio just got outed for a blatant lie he told under oath in a fed civil suit. The testimony he gave was that his RECRUITING COORDINATOR (Curtis Blackwell) "would accompany him on recruiting trips, but would remain in the car while he visited with recruits."

Just, lol, that statement on its face.

And now, a photo taken by a recruit's mom of Blackwell in the recruit's home with Dantonio.

Perhaps someone already posted this SI article written by Pat Forde about the hiring of Mel Tucker. It shows the total foolishness behind hiring decisions and again confirmed my appreciation for Coach P and the TCU board. I especially liked this comment when Michigan State did not get Fickell from Cincinnati. "Then Fickell turned down the job Monday. On Tuesday, a Michigan State trustee said the school didn’t want a “waffling flake,” an apparent shot at Fickell. Later Tuesday, the school landed the waffling flake Mel Tucker, a couple of days after he turned down the job and within hours of him publicly reaffirming his commitment to the Buffaloes."

interesting changes in the sec as kirby smart appears to have hired long time alabama assistant coach scott cochran to be his special teams' coach for the dawgs.

cochran has been with saban since 2007 and is viewed as a key piece of the alabama program.

what is really interesting about this move is that cochran has never been an on the field coach anywhere in college football.

cochran has been the alabama strength and conditioning coach for 12 years and prior to being at bama he was with the charolette hornets as s&c, worked at lsu and university laboratory high school in the same capacity.
