LUBBOCK, Texas – Cold shooting and turnovers plagued the TCU men's basketball team, falling at No. 24 Texas Tech 88-42 on Monday night inside United Supermarkets Arena.

Texas Tech (13-11, 4-7 Big 12) began the game with a 19-4 run over the first 8:48 of the game, holding TCU (16-8, 7-4 Big 12) to a 2-of-13 (15.4 percent) start from the floor and forcing seven turnovers during that span. The Red Raiders coupled their strong defense with a hot start on offense, connecting on nine of their first 12 attempts from 3-point range. TCU trailed 45-20 at the half.

TCU's offensive struggles carried into the second half. The Horned Frogs were held without a field goal from 16:51 to 6:47 in the second half, missing eight straight shots over that stretch. The Frogs shot a season-low 26.7 percent from the field while Texas Tech shot 60.4 percent, including 13-of-22 from 3-point range (59.1 percent). TCU committed 20 turnovers, while Tech had six.

Jaire Grayer was the only TCU player in double-figures, leading the way with 10 points. Kevin Samuel added seven rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Jahmi'us Ramsey and Davide Moretti led Texas Tech with 17 points each.

- TCU trailed 45-20 at the half. The 25-point halftime deficit was the largest in the Dixon era. Prior to Monday, the most was 24 vs. Texas Tech on Feb. 3, 2018.
- TCU started with the lineup of Francisco Farabello, Desmond Bane, RJ Nembhard, Diante Smith and Kevin Samuel for the first time since the season opener against Southwestern (1-1).

Individual Notes
- Jaire Grayer led TCU with 10 points, including 2-of-4 shooting from 3-point range. TCU fell to 5-1 this season when Grayer scores in double-figures.
- Bane scored seven points, breaking his tie with Reggie Smith (1989-92) at fifth all-time on the TCU all-time scoring list at 1,630 points. Bane now stands alone in fifth place with 1,637 career points.
- Kevin Samuel grabbed a game-high seven rebounds and blocked two shots. It marked the 30th game in his career in which he led the team in rebounding and 30th game in which he recorded multiple blocks.

Shoot well(especially 3s), you have a chance. Don't shoot well, you had better be much, much better than the other team.
