That Trout rumor wouldn't be shocking. I've said a few times recently that I think baseball is dirtier now than it was when Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, Clemons, etc. were juicing. I really think these recent power numbers are less ball related and more juice related.

question, will it ever be possible to get technology out of baseball in regards to stealing signs?

would the use of ear pieces for the catcher and pitchers limit some of this?

Probably not. Now you'd be introducing more technology into the situation. Someone would just find a way to listen in on that exchange and buzz it down to the batter.
