TCU’s Gary Patterson makes first coaching change of offseason

BY DREW DAVISON

Gary Patterson looked in-house to find his next offensive line coach.

Jarrett Anderson will move from inside wide receivers coach to offensive line, a source confirmed. This is the first coaching change Patterson has made this offseason.

More are coming, too, as the program has two openings with the departures of co-offensive coordinator Curtis Luper to Missouri and offensive line coach Chris Thomsen to Florida State.

When reading of Anderson as the 2nd most important coaching position to our offense, I wanted to throw up !! Will have to find another Oliver type to make Anderson look good, like Oliver did before.

The season following Oliver's departure.... Anderson's OL took a big nose dive. Just wonder what the hell Gary sees in him that no one else on this board sees in him.?.

What the hell has happened to TCU athletics? The frogs used to be a top 25 in football/baseball and had a basketball team on the rise. It seems like TCU has been on a downward slide since CDC left for UT. Did he see this erosion coming and got out at the right time or is the new AD just not have clout to force change. Anderson has failed in every assignment including OL and GP has signed up for a repeat performance. Baylor/Tech are experiencing success at various levels of their athletic program and TCU is fading further and further away from contention. Hiring Anderson to Coach OL is a microcosm for everything wrong with this program. No accountability from coaches or players.

Yeah, the OL and offense was so bad in 2014-2015. Let's hope we return to the offensive days of 2013 or 2019.

Not to state the obvious here... Who was in charge in 2013 and part of the 2019 staff, and who was kicked to the curb that led the offense in 2014-15 that you laud? I’ll hang up and listen to your answer.

GP has mailed it in and isn’t gonna meaningfully change anything. The Anderson move to OL speaks volume on his plan for coaching staff. TCU is gonna have the same impotent offense it did last year. The Frogs are well on their way to an 8th place finish in Big 12 for 2020.
