Another article said the school talked with Fran as a consultant on the search. Perhaps he is looking to go back "home."

We would miss Luper. Great recruiter and his RBs have been pretty good for the most part.

Loop would be missed. His recruiting and production with the RBs, is about the only thing that works offensively

UNM is a dead end. They're in a budget crunch, their stadium is lousy, they can't draw flies to poop, and they aren't going to get recruits. Their issue isn't the coach, their issue is the administration.

Judging by the amount of golf courses within easy cart-driving distance, Fran's probably fine on tee times.
