Taking in house leadership role. My guess is he retires completely soon. He has earned the rest. Hate to see him leave the coaching ranks.

I’m confident this is a personal/family issue and he won’t be coaching anywhere in the near future.

Even so, I would love for Gary to send him our last 3 game films and get his take. I'm pretty sure they at least have mutual respect.

They had Pac 12 champ and playoff aspirations. They went 7-5. He's taking an administrative role at UW (I guess until he lands a coaching gig.)

Absolutely zero reason to believe this is not his decision.

If they promote from within, his DC has been with him forever. His OC is Bush Hamden, who has bounced around the coaching ranks, including the NFL since playing QB for Boise

That could certainly be the case. That is what Urban Meyer did.

Peterson stayed in Boise b/c of the medical care his son was receiving. He moved to Washington when his son appeared to be doing better. I don't know, but my guess, his son has once again taken a downturn. His friends call him Pete. A devoted family man and one fine coach. Wish them the best.
