A few days old but really sad. I thought he was one of the better umpires in the game and ALWAYS seemed to really enjoy being just a small part of a great game.

They were walking off the field after a game and handed me his umpire hat randomly2 seasons ago. Made a joke and had a good laugh about it. Seemed like a really good dude and now really need item to have of his.

What happened? Articles just say he died, but don't elaborate on cause. Seems unexpected given he just worked a division series a few weeks ago.

Bregman. That’s why I’m rooting for the Nats. Loved watching him Boomer the ground ball to let the flood gates open last night, especially after the admiration of his first hit in a week, and wink at the camera.
That, and it’s Houston (Houstonites, chill. It’s just jealousy. You guys are going to be good for awhile and certainly not counting this team out yet)

Read in another article that he had a blood clot in his leg from complications after a recent surgery. Just did a playoff series too. Those guys sacrifice a lot, especially with their bodies and physical health.
