DMN: On a new stage, RB Darwin Barlow dedicates his first TCU TD to late Newton coach W.T. Johnston

FORT WORTH -- When TCU freshman tailback Darwin Barlow made his way into the endzone in the final minute of play Saturday night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, it came as more than merely the first touchdown of the ex-Newton High School star's college career.
TCU head coach Gary Patterson said following the Horned Frogs' season-opening victory vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff that Barlow dedicated his final-minute score to his former head coach at Newton -- the late W.T. Johnston, who passed away in May.
"I thought it was a cool thing that Barlow actually scored a touchdown for (Johnston)," Patterson said of Barlow's 45-yard rushing performance in his TCU debut. "That was really cool. He's a good player."
