SMU just accepted its 16th Transfer this off season in Auburn LB Richard McBryde. Sonny Dykes is chasing every P5 Transfer he can get a hold of. I’m guessing those academic standards SMU brags about are regressing quite a bit to get these guys in the door.

If this was a transfer from Auburn, he can't be a choice option. Kevin Steele is starting linebackers who are fairly young in experience and they are relying on that Defensive line to cover for that so the pressure is enough.

Dykes is fairly clever. Maybe he saw the value he could pull from the portal and decided it as a strategy?

Many will have to sit if they don’t get a waiver. Since SMU isn’t Miami, Ohio State or FSU it’s safe to assume they will sit.

Buechelle will probably be the starting QB. He doesn’t scare me.

Edit: one player that transferred in after playing for Texas, a Juco and FAU is already in the transfer portal again. That didn’t last long.
