With the Chisholm trail now open all the way down to Cleburne even though it is heavily patrolled so maintain your 65 cruise it’s well worth it doing the zigzag of about 45 miles from Cleburne to Hico through the small towns to hook up with 281. All in all from Fort Worth down to San Antonio so well worth it to avoid the nightmare of 35 Traffic jams, orange cones, Jersey barriers and big construction delays.

The speed limit on the Chisholm Trail is 70 south of FW. Is that you going 65 on the single lane sections?

One of my buddies in high school had an old VW beetle and that thing was not in good shape either. He got a ticket one day for going like 65 in a 35 and when he went in to see the judge, the judge said “you got that thing up to 65? Hell, they should’ve given you a medal not a ticket.” And he dismissed it, lol.
