Next up at 12:25 is Coach Riley. Ryann will more than likely take this one as I have to step out for a quick conference call.

UPDATE sorry was looking at tomorrow's call sheet, next up is OU's Riley.

pretty much straight to questions.

New faces on the offense with 4 new linemen and New QB
New Defensive coordinator and position coaches.

Straight to questions.

Can you D rise more than your Offense might dip?

Riley - O won't dip. We expect D to rise especially with the coaching changes.
expectations are high

Riley - HS coaching in the state of TX is really good. Great receivers in this area. We had the perfect storm when it comes to recruiting from Texas.

Complacency is always a challenge (regarding always winning the Big 12). OU expectations and standards are so high. They want the next Championship. they coached and played their tails off to get it done. It will be difficult to get it done again. It's a good league.

not a fan of how severe some of the penalties have been, especially in the gray area...

a little reckless when throwing players out of the game.

Looking forward to seeing how the new rules work this season

not a fan of transferring and being able to play immediately. but sometimes it's personal and you want the best for the kid. need to protect out league on this.

Win now at any cost or Patience?

There have to be expectations every year. I took over a program that was already successful. Every now and then a tough year is going to happen and the fans need to be reasonable.

all the coaching changes in the Big 12

the league will continue to evolve. It's healthy. Great offense and defense. some of the down schools are on their way up.

Okay folks, that does it for the main stage action today, Ryann will have Player interviews later this afternoon, and we'll be back again tomorrow with the other half of the league.

What do y'all think?

Focusing on safety will be a big part of this season, running through some of the changes we'll hear about from the head of officials shortly, including removing tandem blocks on kickoffs and changing how blindside hits are ruled.
Can you imagine a press conference where the commissioner said “After last year we decided we weren’t going to focus as much on player safety. Gonna use some of that money to line the pockets of the University higher ups”
