I'm not sure why this hasn't become so commonplace for years now that the shift is a failed fad we laugh about.

I hate the idea of rules designed to limit the shift. If you don't like it do this often enough and you won't see it anymore. If you can't figure out how to push a bunt down the 3rd base line I'm not sure how you can be an effective major league hitter anyway.
