And their current run in baseball is pretty close to our 4 year run. They get to Omaha more often than they don't the last 5-6 years. They have a horrible record playing baseball in Omaha, but they are getting there with uncommon regularity.
Didn’t they win a track and field championship as well, or am I having horrible nightmares?

Concerning this week's Briles article by Engel, no Art wasn't the only one guilty, the entire school, the coaching staff, the police department, and the DA's office were all guilty. No one ever stood up for these women. No one. Just because there were others that were guilty should not excuse Art for what he did and did not do. The bottom line is that he SHOULD NOT be coaching. He got his $18 million, and he should stay at Marble Falls and away for the football field.

It bothers me how folks try to distract from Art's guilt on this by saying he "wasn't the only one ...other schools do it ...etc."
It's like two people standing over a dead body with smoking guns and trying to claim one should not be punished cause he only shot him 2 out of the 4 times.

Political argument as well.

"Candidate 1 did this"

"Well, Candidate 2 did it too four years ago"

Even if true, stupid argument.

Wrong is still wrong and a crime is still a crime. Past bad behaviour by an opponent is not a free pass.

Should know about their fate sometime this summer. Hopefully Art gets the show-cause penalty. It would be interesting to see if the Mt. Vernon school board thinks that's OK.

$20 says Mount Vernon does not care what the rest of the world thinks.

They knowingly hired a coach who covered up incidents of sexual assault by his players while employed as the head coach at Baylor.

Maybe when a School Board Member's daughter gets home at 5:00 a.m. after being used and dumped by a starting defensive end and begging a stranger for a ride, hindsight might kick in. Maybe!

You know, the other thing nobody’s really talking about is that even if you ignore all the other stuff, Art doesn’t teach football. He’s got a system that wins games, but doesn’t teach fundamentals well enough to help players in the long run.

Currently in the NFL, he’s got:
- 1 QB, Griffin, whose struggles hardly need mention here.
- 1 WR who’s on his 4th team in 3 years and caught 5 balls last year.
- Zero RBs.
- 2 OGs, one on the practice squad of his 2nd team in 3 years and the other who just signed 2 weeks ago with his 3rd team in 2 seasons.

And that’s it. 7 seasons as head coach and offensive genius at Baylor, yet only 4 offensive players in the NFL who played for him. And all 4 are barely hanging on as backups and considered busts.

Good luck, Mt. Vernon. Friday nights should be more fun. Saturdays likely won’t be. And I don’t know how you’ll be able to look at yourselves in the mirror on Sundays.

More reason to believe he was starting to pay players to get them to Waco. He was starting to land some really talented kids.

Agree on all of this, but Terrance Williams will likely find himself as a #2 receiver on somebody's roster this year. He was pretty good for the Cowboys except for the dropsies problem. There are teams that will sign him, though. Especially since his suspension will make him cheaper.

Mr. Skinny Post. You stop that, Williams doesn’t know any other routes.

He can get to the ball, he just can't hold on to the ball, and that's really the most important part of the catch, the holding onto the ball.
