GoFrogs: Volleyball Recruiting Class Ranked Top 10

FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2019 TCU volleyball recruiting class pulled in the highest ranking in program history by checking in at No. 6 according to the Top 30 Collegiate Recruiting Classes that was released this week by PrepVolleyball.com. This marks the fourth straight season that TCU's incoming recruiting class is ranked.

After receiving their first-ever top-30 ranking in 2016, the Horned Frogs are one of four Big 12 Conference schools in the rankings this year and the second highest ranked. Texas leads the conference at No. 3 followed by the Frogs (No. 6), Kansas (No. 12) and Kansas State (No. 20).

"We are honored that these seven young women decided to call TCU home," head coach Jill Kramer said. "They will all join us on June 2 to prepare for our foreign tour.

"Our team and staff have enjoyed building relationships throughout the past few years with this incoming class of Frogs and their families. Character, confidence and the desire to build a strong legacy for TCU volleyball runs deep with this crew. We can't wait to get them on campus."

The seven incoming freshmen who make up the 2019 class for TCU all hail from the state of Texas. Three of the student-athletes are on the PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces list, while three more were named to the 2018 Under Armour High School All-American teams.

TCU is preparing for its foreign tour that will take place from June 12-26 with the team traveling to the Netherlands, Italy and France. The two-week trip will begin in Amsterdam in The Netherlands where the Frogs will spend six days training, competing and sightseeing. The trip continues to Venice and Milan in Italy for five days and then concludes in Nice, France for the final two days before flying home. TCU will compete in six matches during the duration against some of the top teams in all three countries.

According to PrepVolleyball.com
6. TCU: Julia Adams, 6-3 OH, Plano (Texas); Madi Cole, 6-4 MB, Magnolia (Texas); Ina Ignacio, 5-6 libero, Allen (Texas); Afedo Manyang, 6-2 MB, Everman Joe C. Bean (Fort Worth, Texas); McKenzie Nichols, 5-9 S, Carroll (Southlake, Texas); Audrey Nalls, 6-1 OH, Waxahachie (Texas); Bella Mae Swofford, 5-8 libero/S, Johnson City (Texas)

COMMENT: TCU's coaching staff believes that the 2019 class is destined to leave a legacy and push the program to new heights. The Frogs have not only recruited heavy arms and physicality, but have also brought in an elite setter who has been a proven winner along with two liberos with great volleyball IQs. Fort Worth native Manyang graduated early and has already made huge strides in the gym this spring. She is ranked No. 41 in the PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces and is going to add physicality to the TCU gym as she already touches 10-5. Nicknamed "Smiley" through her club and high school career, Manyang is sure to leave a lasting impact on and off the court for the Frogs. Nalls and Adams are hometown heroes from the DFW Metroplex. They bring heavy arms and are accustomed to carrying a huge load for their club and high school teams. Both outside hitters were ranked inside the Top 20 on the Senior Aces list and will have an immediate impact this summer when TCU takes its foreign tour leading into the 2019 season. Nalls' ball control and strength are evident when she is on the court. Her ability to terminate and hustle on defense have been fun to watch at both Texas Image and Waxahachie High School. Adams, a tall outside hitter nicknamed "Adams Bomb," brings a heavy arm and some serious physicality to the pin. She has been the "go to" for both Plano Sr. High School and for Dallas Summit Volleyball Club. Both Nalls and Adams will be forces at TCU. Nichols, Senior Ace No. 34, is an elite-caliber setter who topped off her prep career with an 18 Open national championship playing for TAV late last month. She brings phenomenal touch and a knack to be at her best in tight situations. Nichols is sure to provide a competitive edge for the Frogs and lead her teammates on and off the court. Cole is a 6-4 middle blocker from Woodlands Revolution with serious rise. Cole adds to an already physical roster. She is a phenomenal learner and as she gains high level experience during her collegiate career will become a force at the net for the Frogs. Last but certainly not least, Swofford and Ignacio provide a ton of ball control and hustl. They both have a great touch on the ball in serve receive and will be steady anchors for TCU's first ball contacts. Both have competed at the highest level in Texas for many years and have a competitive spirit. TCU is poised to be in the conversation as a prominent program for years to come with the addition of these seven elite level players.
