Golf’s major season gets underway this week with the Masters.

It’ll be the first since TCU and Fort Worth legend Dan Jenkins passed away last month.

Article is disappointingly shallow. What did Dan really tell Coach P about that '04 season? What did Dan think about college football issues A, B and C? College football media? What was Dan like on the golf course? (assuming they played together at some point years ago.) C'mon, Drew.

Love Jenkins, but please, just please.

Methinks GMFP tunes out most all criticism from the many fools he encounters. I also think he does indeed listen to some, depending on the source. Consider that Dan Jenkins knew so many of the greatest winners in sports, and had watched over that world for decades. He was a guy who knew a great deal, listened well, told a great (and funny!) tale, and kept things in confidence that he was told in confidence. Thus, he was a trusted fellow, and he learned a great deal more than he led on.

I would imagine that GMFP listened well to what Jenkins had to say.
