Big 12 Expansion Now

It doesn't make sense to add anyone right now. I think if the Big 12 expands it will go north or east. The other option would be to expand in Texas and try to limit A&M and the SEC access to Texas.

I think if we learned anything from the WAC it is that you don't want a conference that cover too much geography.

No. No need to split the money anymore.

Del have his hand up your ass?

Not sure if serious and don't really care but this is really a short-sided opinion and emblematic of the problems with college football. It's all about the money. It's just one big arms race. Sure, we have benefitted and I wouldn't trade that but we've got to get to 12, at the least. Until then, there's only two teams in this conference that will ever get the benefit of the doubt from CFP and we're not one of them.

Central Florida is a one trick pony and BYU brings its own problems with not playing on Sunday. Also BYU always wants to dictate things and expects the conference they are in to dance to their tune.

Why? Why do we have to get to 12? Add two scrub teams that have never proved anything, either creating travel nightmares or diluting a recruiting pool by giving them legitimacy? You say it's shortsighted to avoid expansion, the reality is it's quite the opposite, expanding the conference with nobodies hastens our decline (and puts TCU in an incredibly precarious position).

There simply aren't quality candidates out there that make sense. Not just from money, but from competitiveness or brand or eyeballs. Cincinnati is maybe the lone exception, and they're the definition of edge of the table. BYU has done nothing to deserve a thing. Houston is the definition of G5 decency. Boise has been average since Petersen left. UCF the jury is still out on, and at best is the fourth best program in their own state.

The fact is there's a reason why, TCU and Utah notwithstanding, both multiple time BCS qualifiers and consistent contenders, every other conference realignment has been a poach of an already AQ team. No other G5 team is worthy of that elevation.

Until 10 teams hurts us long term, there's no reason to expand.

Who said anything about scrub teams?
