Patterson says Shawn Robinson is the starting QB, ‘isn’t going to panic’

TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson has turned the ball over six times in the last two games against Ohio State and Texas. The Frogs have blown halftime leads in each game.

But coach Gary Patterson made it clear that Robinson is TCU’s quarterback. Robinson has battled a shoulder injury of late, but is expected to practice this week and start against Iowa State on Saturday night.

There is no quarterback controversy. There is no thought of bumping backup Michael Collins into a starting role.

Patterson now admits that SR injured his shoulder. Was clearly hurt towards end of SMU game and appears to be the same shoulder hurt against Tech last year. How long will he last with opposing defenses now targeting that shoulder? Collins better be ready.

of this desolate place. lol

College landscape is littered with can't miss HS elite players that can't take it to the next level. But some seem to think we are immune to that because we "coach em' up".

Will be disappointed in GP if he doesn't prescribe the pine after the 1st SR turnover Saturday. Give SR and Kenny a few series to get their chuckles out and re-focus. Maybe get a few rounds of Fortnite in during the interim.

You do have a point. How many TO's are acceptable before you decide to change things up. At this point, the leash should be getting shorter and shorter....

They are going to ride SR until we are 6-6 and then wonder why we aren't winning. This just sucks, third year of under performing QB's.

We have entered our third year of HS elite player at QB, each year is a bust. We will be lucky to get above 6-6 this year.

Counterpoint: Gary Patterson started his career at 1-3, the only win being North Texas and a loss to FCS Northwestern State. Would have loved to have seen this board's reaction at the time, and how many wished we had Fran back or that we had hired Brown or Bennett.

Sometimes patience is required. Lots of season left.
