Debate: FF > Nirvana?
Knowing @Ron Swanson ’s passion for 90s rock, particularly alt-rock, I’m sure he has an opinion on the debate.
I like both, and I get the love/nostalgia people have for Nirvana, but Foo Fighters just have more songs that I like. I guess if Cobain wouldn't have pulled a Cobain that could've been different, though.
Couldn’t name a Foo Fighters songKnowing @Ron Swanson ’s passion for 90s rock, particularly alt-rock, I’m sure he has an opinion on the debate.
As I got older I liked most of their other big grunge bands (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, etc) more and liked Nirvana less. During the 90's they were one of my favorites. Foo Fighters are great but not really influential. The fact that Grohl played all of the instruments in the early recordings is impressive. At the end of the day Foo is safe rock for suburban white women. It doesn't make them less successful or make their hits irrelevant.

If we're talking about pure greatness, Nirvana. If we're talking about overall body of work, Foo Fighters. In terms of legacy, it's debateable. Ask me again in 20 years
