GoFrogs: Brodziansky Named Senior CLASS Award Finalist

FORT WORTH, Texas – Senior forward Vladimir Brodziansky has been named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.

After being named a candidate for the award in early January, the Prievidza, Slovakia native was one of 10 NCAA men’s basketball student-athletes to be named a finalist due to his success both on and off the court. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Brodziansky, who was selected to the Preseason All-Big Conference Team in October, is averaging 15.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Last season, he was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team, Big 12 All-Defensive Team, All-Big 12 Honorable Mention by the AP and the NABC All-District 8 team. He helped lead the Horned Frogs to the NIT championship and was named to the NIT All-Tournament Team.

Brodziansky has excelled in the classroom at TCU. He holds a cumulative GPA of 3.385 and is on track to graduate in May with a degree in psychology. He earned Academic All-Big 12 honors last season.

Brodziansky is highly regarded on campus and in the community. He has a reputation for being well-liked, friendly and personable. He has volunteered this season at the Ronald McDonald House as well as a homeless shelter in Fort Worth.

The finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced in January. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner, and fans are encouraged to submit votes online at the Senior CLASS Award website through March 19. Fan votes will be combined with those of the media and Division I head coaches to determine the winners. The Senior CLASS Award recipient will be announced during the 2018 NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Joining Brodziansky as finalists are Shawn Anderson (Navy), Jevon Carter (West Virginia), Angel Delgado (Seton Hall), Rob Gray (Houston), A.J. Jacobson (North Dakota State), Justin Johnson (Western Kentucky), Yante Maten (Georgia), Luke Morrison (Army) and Johnathan Williams (Gonzaga).
