‘Absolutely pathetic’: Social media blasts ex-TCU receiver in wake of harassment lawsuit

Social media was abuzz Thursday upon learning former TCU wide receiver Kolby Listenbee is suing TCU and the Big 12 Conference for a pattern of abuse and harassment.

Reactions on social media to the lawsuit ranged from confusion to anger, with many – like Fort Worth residents Steve Munday and Benjamin Montes – claiming Listenbee is blaming TCU head coach Gary Patterson, the university and others for a lackluster NFL career of his own doing.

“Victimhood as a second career choice,” one Facebook user wrote.

And in the same paper Mac calls it a money grab. Talked to tons of fans outside of tcu that think this is really stupid

With the admission that I haven't really paid attention to these social media drippings, unless these are profane, I would be reluctant to call them "pathetic". If you are going to file suit on something like this, you should expect to get ripped and even more so on social media when you've lived in that medium openly. Gotta figure people have a right to express their opinion of him and the merits of his case in whatever way they please and even more so since there's a ton of information available on which to form the opinion.

I did read the one about "victimhood as a second profession" or something to that effect. Found that quite funny actually.

First hand knowledge of GP, and he would never, "never" play someone who wasn't cleared to play.

As a huge Frog fan for 60+ years and a very big fan of GP the past 20 ... believe one has to give Kolby his day in court, as we have not walked in his shoes. Lets not behave like the Baylor fans did for Briles(not equating the two men or programs in any way). Just 'possibly' TCU needs a good slap on the wri$t here.

In light of my affection for GP, do also remember the David Wesley/GP/team doctor concussion incident and how GP had to eventually stand down from a seemingly authoritarian attitude towards the doc.

You don't have a single fact of this "incident" correct. The player involved in the issue was Ed (not David) Wesley during the 2010 SMU game. GP did not take an authoritarian attitude toward the doctor regarding the injury. The doctor did not effectively communicate to the coaching staff that the player was unavailable so they were unaware when they called a personnel package where he was to be on the field. GP only made it clear that the unavailability of a player needs to be communicated.

The doctor got his feelings hurt because he received this advice during the heat of the game. GP, nor any coach on the staff, insisted that an injured player be cleared to return to the game.

Wouldn't we all like to have our day in court, just in case we might deserve one....

Yeah, because this country isn’t overly litigious as it is.

The problem is that people with true grievances have to wait years in many jurisdictions to get their cases heard. The glut of personal injury attorneys in this country has contributed to the proliferation of people seeking paydays encouraged by lawyers only too willing to take their 25%, many of whom drop their clients if it doesn’t settle and goes to court.

The overwhelming majority of litigation cases in this country is not PI lawsuits. I could do the work for you and put up article and stats after stats but it wouldn’t matter anyway claims supervisor. Your closed mind is made up.

Agree with the sentiment but from personal experience try 40%.
