TCU’s 2017 recruiting class already is making an impact. One of its members, defensive tackle Corey Bethley, stood out in Week 1.
The freshman defensive lineman from Katy, Texas, was rated as a 3-star recruit, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Coach Gary Patterson talked up Bethley’s potential as a possible starter before the season. He was named one of the top freshmen to watch in the Big 12 this season by CBS Sports.
Bethley wasn’t the only TCU freshman to have a breakout performance in Week 1. Running back Kenedy Snell score the Horned Frogs’ first touchdown of the season, and the highlight of that score was viewed more than 3 million times on Instagram.
TCU plays Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday on CBS.
