Ron was a cheerleader when I arrived on campus in 1970. As far as I could tell no one thought a thing of it. Of course, our football team did not have a lot to cheer about, but the basketball team went to the NCAA tournament in March of 71. I guess I was too naive to notice the racial strife.

The bottom of the SWC in 71 was the Longhorns, The Aggies, and The Razorbacks. The Frogs finished the season at 15-12 overall but won the SWC with an 11-3 records, the Bears of Baylor finished 10-4 in conference play for second place.

At the time the play happened the refs did not even blow the whistle to call a foul. They let the Frogs play on but stopped the play when they saw Dickinson on the floor despite the Frogs going for a fast break. Dickinson's position was not in jeopardy and the play should not have been...
