Norrie into the SF tonight vs FAA. Seemed like he had a pretty comfortable QF until he was broken while serving for the match. Ended up winning the 2nd in a breaker. He's now 90 points behind Hurkacz to move back into the top 10.

Elsewhere, former college #1 JJ Wolf beat Rune to advance to the QF at DC. Guessing that's the first time he's gotten that far at any ATP event, much less a 500 level. The win moves him up to #83 in the world.

Norrie now has 2985 tour points, which leaves him 30 points behind Hurkacz for #10. He has a window here to make some serious ground in the rankings. As a result of a poor hard court season last year and some calendar quirks, I think he only has 10 points rolling off through the US Open. Bad news is that after that he will have to defend 1,150 points over 2 weeks starting at the end of September (150 for reaching final at San Diego & 1,000 for Indian Wells).

Norrie plays Andy Murray here in 30 minutes. Murray played an old time classic against Wawrinka and barely beat him in 3 sets. Should be a good battle of the Brits. If Norrie plays the same as he did in round 1 against Rune, he will remain the #2 Brit.

And Norrie's reward if he wins is a match against Ruud in the next round, who Norrie hasn't been competitive with so far in their matches.

And he lucks out w Shelton beating Ruud. Shelton's got a lot of talent obv but this seems like a much better match up. If Cilic can somehow take out Alcaraz then we'll know Cam's really living right.

Cam with the 1st set bagel, follows it up with a break in the 1st game of the 2nd set. Shelton is making 37% of his 1st serves and has lost 17 of 19 points on his 2nd serve.
