UT has gone out of its way to honor the late, great Dan Jenkins. TCU should do the same

By Big Steaming Pile

The manuscript on his desk is opened to where Dan Jenkins left proofing his latest book. It is just as he left it, on page 104, when he left us.

Grief has its own pace.

Jenkins’ final book, “The Reunion At Herb’s Cafe,” is finished, and will be available shortly.

Fort Worth’s favorite and funniest author died in March, and some things have remained in place since the day he died, while other portions of his past have found a home.

So display some of his stuff? OK. Muck making something out of literally nothing.

If pet birds / bird cages were still in vogue, that would present opportunity to display Muck’s stuff.

Isn't our press box named after him? I am sure the Journalism school would be named after him if there wasn't a little known guy named Bob Scheiffer (sarc). This article is trying is so 2019 and trying so hard to cause a stir. I have a pretty good feeling TCU will continue to honor Jenkins in many ways when the opportunity presents itself.

TCU has honored him multiple ways over the years.
Muck even mentions it in his article. I think he is just trying to get a local display for Jenkins. Sure, whatever.

Didn't Jenkins donate his works to UT instead of his beloved hometown university? Perhaps that's why UT honors him?

Wonder if he wrote this while sitting in the Dan Jenkins press box at AGC...

scheiss Muck. That cocksucker should be banned from campus and forced to write his dreck from the toilet. He can call it "[ Finebaum ] from the [ Finebaum ]ter

Classy response to a great writer.

The reference was to Engel, not Jenkins.

Mac is right on this one / y’all are too sensitive

Okay, TCU named the press box after him.

Dan donated his writings to ut.

What else is there to be done?

Rename the Business School after Big Ed Bookman?

Change the name of the Natural Resources Program to Dinosaur Juice Hunting.

Hire Coach Wetfart?

Give Jim Tom Pinch a place on The Board of Trustees?

Or maybe just name the Pess Box in his honor and invite Sally Jenkins to cut the ribbon.
