Men's upcoming season schedule was posted and roster page updated, so time for a new thread.

The schedule is similar to last year's but with perhaps one more weak-field event added in place of a stronger-field event, which makes sense for a team with no seniors and only one junior.

In addition to the five freshman recruits (henceforth known as the League of Nations, with representation from Argentina, Denmark, France, USA and the Republic of Texas), the Frogs added a sophomore transfer from Tech, Thomas Allkins. He'll fit right in with this international crew--born in Canada; grew up in Bermuda; rated 68th nationally coming out of high school in Florida. Allkins played in three college tournaments this past year.

Given the huge departing senior class, TCU had to be an attractive destination for a good player struggling to get playing time elsewhere. And considering that TCU's reigning Big 12 individual champ was a Tech transfer, it's not a bad well to draw from. The relationship between Coach Montigel and the Tech coach must be good, because apparently Allkins was granted a full release to play this year.

The most impressive spring/summer season among incoming freshmen was posted by Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, who won three adult open events in Argentina and finished runner up in a fourth.

Will be interesting to see who earns playing time this fall.

The TCU women's roster and schedule are not yet updated for 2019-2020.

Grace Do has turned her play up a couple of notches this summer, winning twice on the Texas Collegiate Amateur Tour, a series of small-field events.

How she's winning is what's impressive. In the Dallas event she won by 13 (over fellow Frog Greta Bruner) and closed with a 68, the best single-round score in the field by four shots. At Flower Mound, she won by 7 and closed with a 66, again the best round of the tournament by four shots.

Great to see her progress. Not sure how the course setups compare, but her stroke average over six summer tournament rounds is 70.7, five shots better than her TCU average last season..

Came across this one by accident: Hayden Springer wins the U.S. Amateur qualifier in Littleton, Colorado, with a 36-hole total of -10. One of three qualifiers in the 82-player field, he'll be teeing it up at Pinehurst on Aug. 11.

Edit: Here's the "game story" on the qualifier, including a quote from Hayden about his plans to turn pro after the U.S. Amateur. Good luck to him! https://www.coloradogolf.org/wait-until-dark/

Incoming Frog freshman Trinity King joins Jennie Park as a qualifier for the U.S. Women's Amateur, finishing second in a 40-player field at the qualifier in Leawood, Kansas.

With those two plus 4 returning starters, and with Grace Do's improvement over the summer, the Frogs could have a very good team this year.

Barjon wins in Canada. He shoots a final round 67 and wins by 3. It's his second victory of the season and fifth top-10 finish. He now leads the Order of Merit at just under 100,000 CAD. That should clinch a top-five season finish and promotion to the Korn Ferry Tour. Wonder if he might catch a sponsor's exemption on a higher-level tour in the weeks to come.

TCU rising sophomore Sabrina Iqbal is off to a solid start in the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur tournament. She is -1 through nine holes.

The boys' and girls' tournaments raised their age limits to 18 a couple of years ago.

The tournament has 36 holes of stroke-play followed by match play. Follow progress here: https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/championships/2019/u-s--girls--junior.html#!scoring

Update 1: Iqbal eagles her 10th hole (1st hole on the course) and is now -3, which is solo second place.

Update 2: Sabrina finishes the round with a 2-under 70, currently good for T4 among the 75 or so players on the course in the morning wave. Puts her in great shape to advance to match play with a high seed.

Sabrina Iqbal shoots even on day 2 of 2 in the U.S. Junior Girls stroke play format. She finishes stroke play T6 at -2 and advances to stroke play as one of the top seven seeds.

After making the turn 1 down, Sabrina Iqbal catches fire, going five under in six holes to win her U.S. Junior Girls round-of-64 match, 4&2, over Cory Lopez. With seeds 2 and 4 losing today, she is the fourth-highest remaining seed left in the field.

Sabrina Iqbal owns the back nine at Sentryworld again. This time she was three down through 10 but roared back with four birdies on the final eight holes to win 2 up. Sabrina is the last remaining college golfer in the field of juniors. She will face fellow Californian Briana Chacon in the Round of 16 this afternoon. Follow progress here: https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/championships/2019/u-s--girls--junior.html#!scoring

Update: Sabrina's run comes to an end in the Round of 16; she loses 5&4 to Briana Chacon, who shot -5 for the 14 holes played.
