schools like bama, clemson, uga, ohio state, lsu, continue to cherry pick, other schools seem to have inroads, and for whatever reason tcu struggles to get respect.

When you have a backyard as lucrative as the Frogs do, the success their is critical. I love that recruiting respect around the country is at an all time high but it’s not so great that we can expect to win Big 12 titles without pulling 3-4 big recruits out of DFW every year. We are a good football team with good coaching but if we are always going to recruit in the 30s every year we just need to be content with fighting for a championship every 3-4 years. That’s a good goal for our recruiting level.

i don't disagree and not sure what has happened to the frogs efforts in the metroplex.

here are the number of "metroplex" recruits the frogs have signed per class since joining the big 12.

2012 - 6
2013 - 10
2014 - 9
2015 - 12
2016 - 5
2017 - 5
2018 - 6
2019 - 3

the frogs have raised their target sites a bit over the past few years, but they have also have 7 years of competing in the big 12 to show that they have the ability to compete in the conference and have put kids in the nfl.

early this year and they are in on some targets, but i am not sure what has happened the past few seasons as ou recruiting the area hard isn't new, same with texas and atm, and schools have been cherry picking the area for decades

Outside of OU and some extent still UT, TCU gets who TCU wants at this point more times than not when it comes to recruiting. Winning an outright Big XII championship plus our campus offerings plus what Fort Worth has to offer would do damage to OU's recruiting against us once that outright Bug XII champions trophy is parked on Gary's desk.

so the 150+ or so offers a year tcu has been issuing the past few years are merely spending the budget?

Nothing to get worked up about..Let these kids have their moments..Is it absurd? Sure but these are teenagers and 90% of their lives are absurd
