Maybe I have missed it before but the home plate ump in our game, lines himself up to the right or left of home plate, depending on whether the batter is a right or left hander.

Is that normal? Doesn't seem that he would have a good view a pitch that approaches the outside of the plate.

Yeah, I'd take this ump every game. He's missed some, but they all do. Nothing consistently egregious about him, though. We can't blame them tonight.

We sure can't. Maybe if we could lay off bad pitches a little more it might have been a better outcome
It's tough when you got a guy like Faedo throwing. You got about 1/8th of a second to decide whether to swing and then it breaks 2 ft right before gets to you.

Hitting a world-class pitcher at the top of his game is about the hardest thing to do in sports.
