San Antonio Express-News: TCU eager to move past so-so 2016 season but face tough schedule

While others were singing “Auld Lang Syne” last New Year’s Eve, TCU coach Gary Patterson was stewing about old acquaintances he couldn’t forget.
And Patterson, the nation’s second-longest tenured coach to Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz, couldn’t wait to get back on the field.
“Any time you have a season you don’t want to have, you want to get back in as quick as you can,” Patterson said. “We had to get back to being more physical, and we started that in January.”
