Sooners have "payback" on their minds as a rigorous conference slate awaits

FORT WORTH — Now the real fun starts.
Over the last two months, the Oklahoma men have risen from the ashes of their worst finish in nearly 40 years. If the season ended today, the No. 12 Sooners (10-1) would not only be in the NCAA tournament, they'd probably be a favorite to escape the first round.
But the season's only beginning.
Up next, the most difficult conference in the country. It's hard to argue otherwise when Texas has the most losses, while also taking No. 4 Duke to overtime and touting a potential lottery pick in center Mohamed Bamba.
