FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Yale, 82-72, at Schollmaier Arena on Tuesday night.

TCU (3-1) was led in scoring by Amy Okonkwo who had 18 points off the bench for TCU. Amber Ramirez and Toree Thompson each added 13 points while Lauren Heard had 12, the first double-figure scoring game of the freshman's career.

Yale (3-1) was led by Jen Berkowitz who had 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting. The Bulldogs, who led for most of the game, shot 53 percent on the night, including 10-of-13 for 77 percent in the fourth quarter.

Defining Moments
TCU started out ice-cold, missing its first six shots, and didn't score until nearly five minutes had already elapsed in the first quarter. The Frogs would make up that initial deficit, and eventually went into halftime trailing by just three, 30-27.

The teams traded buckets for most of the third quarter before Yale's Roxy Barahman hit a big 3-pointer to close the quarter, pushing the Bulldogs' lead to nine points, 52-43.

The Frogs chipped away at that lead, and got within five, 71-66, when Amber Ramirez hit a 3-pointer with 2:41 remaining in the game. However, from there TCU would miss its next six shots and Yale would pull away.

In all, the Bulldogs hit 10-of-13 shots in the fourth quarter to keep the Frogs from completing a comeback.

Up Next
The Frogs will leave on Wednesday for a trip to Northridge, Calif. TCU will play two games at the Warner Center Marriott Thanksgiving Classic, starting with a Friday-night contest against Arizona. The Frogs will then take on either host CSUN or Idaho on Saturday night.
