ABOUT THE GAME
* No. 15 TCU begins its sixth season of Big 12 play when it returns to the road Saturday to face No. 6 Oklahoma State at 2:30 p.m.
* TCU is playing in Stillwater for the fourth time in six seasons. Upon entering the Big 12 in 2012, TCU inherited Texas A&M's league schedule in which the Aggies owed the Cowboys an extra home game. TCU played at Oklahoma State in 2012 and 2013, before hosting the Cowboys for the first time in 2014.
* The game features the all-time winningest coaches at both schools. Gary Patterson has 152 victories at TCU, while Mike Gundy has 107 for OSU.
* Patterson is 22-19 against ranked opponents, including an 8-5 mark over the last four seasons.
* TCU has opened 3-0 for the ninth time in 17 seasons with Patterson.

* TCU's 40-14 record (.741) in road and neutral-site games since 2009 is the nation's second-best mark.
* At 34-10 (.773), TCU has the nation's third-best road record since 2009.
* TCU is 14-9 on the road in its Big 12 history.
* Six of TCU's last 12 Big 12 road games have been decided by seven points or less. The Horned Frogs are 5-1 in those games. Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU is 8-4 in conference road games decided by seven points or less.
* Among Power Five teams since 2009, TCU has the fourth-best record (26-9, .743) in road conference games.
* TCU is seventh nationally with seven road wins over Associated Press Top-25 teams since 2009.

SERIES NOTES

* In the two previous seasons it came off a non-winning record in the 17-year tenure of head coach Gary Patterson, TCU went a combined 23-2 en route to a pair of conference championships (Mountain West, 2005; Big 12, 2014). The Horned Frogs were 11-1 in 2005 after a 5-6 campaign in 2004, while going 12-1 with Big 12 and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl championships in 2014 after a 4-8 season in 2013.
* The Horned Frogs were not ranked in the preseason Associated Press or Amway USA Today Coaches polls for the first time since 2014, when they went on to post a 12-1 record while winning a Big 12 championship and defeating Ole Miss 42-3 in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
* TCU has 21 scholarship seniors after having just eight last season. The Horned Frogs have 32 total seniors compared to just 13 a year ago.
