FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's basketball team remained unbeaten on the young season with an 82-58 win over Texas State at Schollmaier Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Moore scored a career-high 28 points on 14-of-16 shooting to pace TCU (3-0). She also added eight rebounds and five blocks. Toree Thompson added 14 points, including four 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Frogs exploded in that period to pull away from Texas State (2-1).

Moore's 28 points are the most by a Horned Frog since Zahna Medley, the program's all-time leading scorer, had 31 against UTRGV on Nov. 28, 2015.

TCU held Texas State to 28 percent shooting, including just 6-of-29 from long range. The Bobcats had shot over 42 percent from deep in their first two games, one of which was a road win over Texas Tech.

Taeler Deer, who scored 44 points in the Bobcats' win at Texas Tech, was held to nine points on 3-of-16 shooting by TCU.

Defining Moments
TCU led by just seven points at halftime, but came out red hot in the third quarter to pull away. Thompson hit her first 3-pointer on the half's first possession and that set the tone. Thompson and Moore would combined for the Frogs first 10 points of the half and in just two minutes the lead was up to 13 points, 46-33.

The Frogs wouldn't cool down as they made 11 consecutive shots to start the third quarter, including five 3-pointers with four coming from Thompson. TCU didn't miss a field goal until only 2:34 remained in the quarter, and by that point the Frogs were up by 26 points, 64-38.

TCU's hot shooting came while Texas State was ice cold. The Bobcats would get within 18 points, 68-50, early in the fourth quarter, but went the final eight minutes of the game without a field goal. In total, Texas State made just 2-of-14 in the fourth quarter and 7-of-30 overall in the second half.

Stats of the Game
48 -- The Frogs dominated inside as they outscored Texas State 48-10 in the paint. Moore scored 26 of her 28 points in the paint. The Bobcats scored just two points in the paint in the second half.

Quote of the Game
"Our post players understand that the way they flex their leadership muscle is through consistent performance, and demonstrating to their team a high-level of self accountability. When they set the tone early in that way, it really becomes contagious throughout the program." -- Raegan Pebley
