WACO, Texas -- No. 6 TCU equestrian advanced to the NCEA National Championship semifinals for the third straight season, but fell to No. 2 Auburn, 12-4, at the Extraco Events Center on Thursday evening.

Despite falling in the main team bracket, TCU (9-9) still has two shots at a national title as the Frogs will compete in two event quarterfinals on Friday. The Frogs will take on Georgia in the Fences quarterfinal and Oklahoma State in the Horsemanship quarterfinal.

The Rundown
The meet started with Equitation Over Fences and Horsemanship. Auburn (11-4) took a 4-0 win in Fences while the two sides split, 2-2, in Horsemanship. Cydney Benes and Jamie Cook grabbed the Frogs' points. Benes backed up her quarterfinal 150-point ride with a 146.5 effort on Otto in the semifinals. Cook grabbed a narrow 152-151 win over Lauren Diaz on Zip.

Auburn sealed the win with a 3-1 advantage in Reining as Adrianna Adams earned TCU's point with a 137.5 on Peppy. The Tigers also grabbed a 3-1 advantage in Equitation on the Flat with Jayme Omand winning her point with a 150 on Baltik.

TCU turns its attention to Friday's event quarterfinals, starting with a match against Georgia in Fences at 8:30 a.m. The winner will immediately play in the semifinals at approximately 11:15 a.m.

The Frogs will take on Oklahoma State in the Horsemanship quarterfinals at approximately 3 p.m. with the semifinals to follow.
