The logo is so ingrained in our brains we don’t even notice that a casino is sponsoring an NCAA athletic sports venue/event.

There is the logo, clearly visible on the lower windows of TCU’s basketball venue, Schollmaier Arena: Winstar.

When asked about how/why TCU permitted a casino to sponsor one of its venues for amateur athletes, most of whom are not old enough to gamble, TCU athletic director Chris Del Conte was quick to make an important distinction.

wasn't that hard to decipher. stadiums never sell out and so the need for more seats is not real. what is real is the demand for more exclusive seating for the well-heeled.

i am trying to think of a club level cheer. how bout ......

rah rah rar..lets go to winstar

rah rah ree..buy the University

by the way...do these things pay for themselves or do donors simply subsidize biff and muffin's club seats?

I agree. How many club seats does anyone really need. I think the Club Seats should go to those true fans who donate nothing to the school.

Professional? My saddle sore rear end. You want to know what “professional” sports teams do? They get the taxpayers to foot most, if not all, of the bill. TCU is going to have private donations make up 100% of their stadium renovation for their PRIVATE University in response to a survey sent to the alumni who are PRIVATE citizens whom will choose to do what they want with their PRIVATE money.

You want to go off on a school that is squandering funds like a professional team then plant your butt in your car and drive three hours south.

The remarkable facilities and venues that this university currently enjoys are the result of those individuals

who were willing to step up in their support of TCU.

Completely agree and appreciate what they did over the last 20 years or so. No reason to believe they wouldn't step up for TCU's best interest again today.

I don't understand why TCU doesn't just set aside five thousand or so seats in the stadium to hand out to the families of FW ISD kids who make good grades or honor roll, etc. Get in some local kids who might not be able to afford to come to the games; increase local enthusiasm for the school. We don't need the ticket revenue, which is a drop in the ocean compared to TV money.
