Would've made much more sense for UVA to go to Arkansas and Missouri State to TCU. Unrelated but Nebraska shouldn't be a 2 seed.

We've got what we've got though. At least Virginia presumably throws their age Friday afternoon.

Virginia doesn't seem to have a defined rotation. It's some combo of (in ERA order):

Most starts:
Jr LHP Adam Haseley (3.58)
7-1, 11 app/11 starts, 65.1 ip (roughly 6 ip/game)
58 h, 30 r, 26 er, 18 bb, 53 so, .244 b/avg
Jr RHP Derek Casey (3.78)
4-2, 13 app/13 starts, 64.1 ip (roughly 5 ip/game)
62 h, 30 r, 27 er, 21 bb, 55 so, .249 b/avg
So LHP Daniel Lynch (4.94)
7-4, 13 app/13 starts, 74.2 up (roughly 6 ip/game)
81 h, 48 r, 41 er, 39 bb, 43 so, .277 b/avg

Also in and out of the rotation:
Fr RHP Noah Murdock (3.32)
3-1, 11 app/7 starts, 38.0 ip (starts+relief)
30 h, 14 r, 14 er, 20 bb, 21 so, .219 b/avg
So RHP Evan Sperling (6.57)
3-2, 14 app/9 starts, 38.1 ip (starts+relief)
28 h, 31 r, 28 er, 28 bb, 45 so, .204 b/avg

We'd prefer to face righties.

March 31-April 2 they went:
Murdock, Sperling, Haseley
April 7-9:
Casey, Murdock, Haseley
April 13-15:
Casey, Murdock, Haseley
April 21 (DH) & 22:

56.2 ip (roughly 3 ip per appearance)
36 h, 19 r, 16 er, 28 bb, 66 so.176 b/avg
Jr RHP Tommy Doyle is the closer:

Yeah, looks like they had a hard time trying to keep things reasonable and keep other Big 12 teams against Tech and TCU at the same time.

ACC controversy: The committee came under scrutiny for its selection of Clemson as a regional host over Virginia. The Tigers finished 39-19, losing 11 of their final 12 games against ACC competition, while the Cavaliers (42-14) won their final six ACC series and beat Clemson 10-2 on Friday at the league tournament. "Razor thin," said Sidwell of the decision. "There were arguments on both sides." Clemson's home regional is paired in the next round with the Oregon State regional. Virginia travels as a No. 2 seed to Fort Worth, Texas, where host TCU holds the No. 6 national seed in a regional opposite host Arkansas. A silver lining for the Cavs? Two years ago, they were sent on the road to California for regional play and responded by winning the national title.

Apologies if this has already been answered... if we, as season ticket holders, don't purchase regional tickets, do we still get 1st dibs on our seats for supers? (Son has a tournament out of town this weekend.)

Good breakdown by the looks of this AZ, USF and UVA should never have been linked to a National seed and should have been with seeds 9-16

Parking/tailgating reminde: Lot 13 was sold on a season basis, and those passes INCLUDE all postseason games. Parking in that lot will be VERY limited relative to past years as a result.

The regular season parking was 13W. I assume by offering "lot 13", they are selling parking space on the east side of the lot as well?

I would make no assumptions. 13 W is technically everything west of those right by the soccer stadium but based on the placement of barriers during the regular season, who knows. Regionals typically require more operations parking, too FWIW.

My point is that it's going to be a lot harder to just show up and tailgate in 13 than we are used to.

Yes (though as with all NCAA events, they sometimes have to shuffle reserved seats around so you may not get your normal reserves seats, but you'll be able to get some reserved seats for the super whether or not you purchase for the regional).

UPDATE:

Per a couple UVA message board, Murdock is out for the season and Haseley is very limited. They think the starting rotation is Lynch, Casey and then ?

If true, we really want Lynch to throw Friday so we could get the righty (Casey) on Saturday.

Seeing a lot of confidence out of UVA fans. Think they'll light up our pitching staff and smash their way out of FW. Could happen of course. But they don't know how difficult that game plan is in Lupton. And if their pitching staff is limited..... Their pitching staff isn't overly dominant - we've seen better rotations in league play for sure. I actually think the teams match up well. We need our offense to hit its potential. Skoug needs to shake out of the OKC funk and get back to his earlier May form.

Key for TCU as always is of course to win the first 2 games. I have a lot of faith in Janczak. Just gotta give him some run support and good stuff from the bullpen.

Guessing the plan is Lodolo Friday. If we can build a 3+ run lead, use King/Eissler out of the pen. Need a good start and distance from Lodolo. Then an ideal Saturday is Janczak, Wymer and Feltman. Howard on Sunday with Traver waiting in the wing for Monday, if needed. Hopefully that plan works out and we don't need the Monday plan because we're resting for supers.

If we advance to supers, I expect Janczak to go in game 1 and Howard in game 2.

Is UVA a power hitting team?
