UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU's offense is off to a historic start. The Mustangs scored 112 points in their 2-0 start, the most in program history through two games. Receiver Courtland Sutton grabbed four touchdown receptions against UNT, tying the program record for most in a game. SMU is one of nine FBS teams that averaged over 300 yards passing and 170 yards rushing to start the year.

UNT and Stephen F. Austin, though, were quizzes. Now comes the exam.

SMU will face its toughest challenge of the year on Saturday against No. 20 TCU. The Horned Frogs look like a much-improved team from the one that went 6-7 but still held SMU to three points a year ago. The greatest improvement thus far is on the defensive side of the ball.
