DMN: TCU fan sets up crowdfunding page to help young Iowa State fan from viral photo

You've likely seen the photo by now -- the one of TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin engaging 7-year-old Abby Faber before kickoff of Saturday's game at Iowa State.
 
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Faber was chosen to be a "Kid Captain" for the game from Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She has cerebral palsy. The two met near midfield before the coin toss.
 
It's become bigger than perhaps even he could've imagined.
 
A TCU fan -- or fans, it may seem -- worked with Faber's family to set up a crowdfunding page to help with her physical therapy and other needs that are not covered by insurance. The following can be read on the page: "A picture was captured of Trevone Boykin taking time to meet Abby and TCU fans were touched and reached out wanting to know how they could help Abby and her family." ...

I hope my tweets helped - so glad that CDC has a good social media presence to help get the word out. Credit to Prince of Purpoole who posted the original link to make us all aware. I saw the link just hit r/CFB this morning too. Glad it's catching steam this fast!!

Can't log into Facebook from school. So can't share till this evening. The district blocks Facebook but not Killerfrogs. :blink: :biggrin:
