TCU football didn’t have the year it initially envisioned with a 6-6 finish to the regular season, but that didn’t stop several Horned Frogs from exceeding expectations.

Whether it stemmed from self-determination, an unexpected chance to play in lieu of injured players or perhaps even a combination of both, here are five TCU players who went above and beyond this fall:

1. Garret Wallow, LB
While Wallow did see playing time in all 14 games as a freshman in 2017, his sophomore season proved to be his breakout campaign en route to 72 total tackles after recording just eight one year ago. Wallow had three 11-tackle performances on the season, including a career-best 10 solo tackles at West Virginia on Nov. 10. Injuries on defense allowed Wallow to rotate between linebacker and safety, establishing the New Orleans native as a versatile player going forward for Gary Patterson’s defense.

first 3 names on the list performed at expectations,

might i suggest someone like ridwan who led the team in solo tackles and interceptions or taye barber who was 2nd on the team in receptions and 3rd in receiving yards and also corey bethley who led interior defensive linemen in tf's and sacks.

grayson easily surpassed expectations because i don't think anyone had any for him and i think including emari over the 3 above is a bit lazy.
